Relocation Management Resources, Inc. ("RMR" or "we") will obtain from you personally identifiable data in order to perform move management services and act as your agent during and after your relocation. This information includes your legal name(s); method(s) of contact including phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses; your home address(es); certain information about the contents of your home; and information about your family such as name(s) of your spouse, parents, or children if it is relevant to the moving services being provided.
RMR acknowledges that individuals have the right to access the personal information that we maintain about them. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data, should direct their query to email@example.com. If requested to revise or remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
As a customer of RMR, it will be necessary to share your personal information such as your address of current and prospective residence, contact information, and any information required to ensure your household goods are legally transferred between one or more local, state, federal, or international jurisdictions. Typically, your information will be shared with the moving companies that perform packing, loading, hauling, and storage of household goods. In addition, your personally identifiable information will be shared with companies who provide special moving services like tear-down or re-construction of pianos, works of art, washers and dryers, etc. Other third parties who will receive your information will be international agents and carriers and insurance companies.
RMR also may be required to disclose an individual's personal information in response to a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
When sharing your personally identifiable information, RMR never discloses your information with third parties for any materially different service or purpose other than providing for your moving services.
RMR's accountability for personal data that it receives under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to a third party is described in the Privacy Shield Principles. In particular, RMR remains responsible and liable under the Privacy Shield Principles if third-party agents that it engages to process the personal data on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless RMR proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
Opt-In / Opt-Out
RMR does not provide a mechanism for opting in or opting out of its use of your personally identifiable information because we act solely as your agent and we do not: (a) disclose your personal data to independent third parties (except agents), or (b) use your data for a materially different purpose from that which it was originally collected. What this means is that we do not share your information with third parties who want to market their products or services, nor do we use your personal information, including website activity, for targeted advertising.
If RMR ever were to engage in any onward transfers of your data with third parties for a purpose other than which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized, RMR would provide you with an opt-out choice to limit the use and disclosure of your personal data.
RMR complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States, respectively.
RMR has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles of Notice, Choice, Accountability for Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation, Access, and Recourse, Enforcement and Liability.
Enforcement & Dispute Resolution
In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, RMR commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. EU individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our Private Shield policy should first contact RMR at: firstname.lastname@example.org
RMR has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the EU-US Privacy Shield Principles to BBB EU PRIVACY SHIELD, a non-profit alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States and operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit www.bbb.org/EU-privacy-shield/for-eu-consumers/ for more information and to file a complaint.
If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed by RMR, and your inquiry or complaint involves human resource data, you may have your complaint considered by an independent recourse mechanism: for EU/EEA Data Subjects, a panel established by the EU data protection authorities ("DPA Panel"). To do so, you should contact the state or national data protection or labor authority in the jurisdiction where you work. RMR agrees to cooperate with the relevant national DPAs and to comply with the decisions of the DPA Panel.
Should your complaint remain fully or partially unresolved after a review by RMR, BBB EU Privacy Shield and the relevant DPA, you may be able to, under certain conditions, seek arbitration before the Privacy Shield Panel. For more information, please visit the Privacy Shield website (www.privacyshield.gov).
RMR is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
