COVID-19 Driver Regulation Changes

The complexity for the moving and freight trucking industry is completely in uncharted territory.

The need for speed in making decisions and keeping the supply chain flowing can’t ignore the flip side of regulation and liability.

Truck drivers that are servicing the medical, food and related societal necessities are having Hours of Service Logs relaxed, but not eliminated.

Interestingly, there’s not been many reports of accidents increasing, leading one to wonder if car traffic (which is greatly diminished with the Shut-Down) is a large extenuating factor in truck accidents under normal times and perhaps the Electronic Log Mandate has over-stepped in over regulating the ability of truck drivers to show professional judgement in doing their job.

We are infinitely thankful for the First Responders, Medical Personnel, Truck Drivers and all of you who are placing themselves at risk to help others and GET THE JOB DONE!

It’s the American way!
